The Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship provides a limited amount of scholarships every year to postgraduate students. exceptional students from developing countries who have no other way to finance their education. The scholarships are given on a 50/50 grant: 50% loan basis. The Foundation prefers requests for courses at the Master’s level, however, it will consider applications for Ph.D. programs. Short-term course applications are not looked at.

Eligible Countries For Aga Khan Scholarships 2024-2025:

The countries that are included in the list include Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, and Mozambique. For France, Portugal, the UK, the USA, and Canada, applicants who come from any of the developing nations, are interested in studies related to development, and have no alternative means of financing their education.

Financial Coverage Aga Khan Foundation Scholarships:

The Foundation provides students with the cost of tuition and living expenses only. Travel expenses are not covered by AKF scholarship funds. Financial aid for PhD programs is available only for the initial two years of studies After that, the students must find other sources of support.

Half of the scholarship is considered to be a loan and is due to be repaid with an annual service fee of 5 percent. A guarantor must sign the loan agreement. The repayment period is 5 years beginning six months after the study period, which is funded through Aga Khan Foundation. Eligibility Criteria For Aga Khan Foundation Scholarships Program:

The Foundation accepts applications from citizens from the countries listed below: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and Mozambique. The Foundation accepts applications from France, Portugal, the UK, the USA, and Canada, applications are accepted from applicants who originate from any of the developing nations, who are interested in studying development-related subjects, and have no alternative means of funding their education.

Residency Requirement For Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship:

The Foundation only accepts applications from those who meet the criteria above and reside anywhere in which the regional Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), Aga Khan Education Services (AKES) as well as Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) offices that accept applications and allow candidates to be interviewed.

Age Limit

Students are given preference younger than 30 years old.

Application procedure For Aga khan Foundation Scholarship:

  • Students can get applications forms by the 1st day of January each year. AKF office and Aga Khan Education Services or Boards for their countries of residence
  • Applications that have been completed should be sent back to the institution where the form was received. They shouldn’t be sent to Geneva. The deadline for submitting requests will be 31 March however in some countries, the deadlines for internal submissions could differ.. Candidates are advised to check with local offices to inquire about deadlines and deadlines for internal applications since these might differ between countries.
