Scholarship Value:

This is a fully-funded scholarship program which is completely and fully funded. The scholarships will cover:

• Grants for relocation of up to $2000 for students going into States and Territories which aren’t Victoria and $3000 for students leaving Australia.
• Overseas Students Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students that require the Australian student visa in order to continue the course of study in Australia
• A full reduction in the cost for the first two years of an Masters by Research degree or up to 4 years for students pursuing an advanced doctoral.
• Living allowance of $31,200 per year pro-rata (2023 full-time rate of studies) which is available for up two years for those who are pursuing an Masters by Research degree or up to 3.5 years for students pursuing the advanced level. The living allowance is re-adjusted annually and includes paid parental and sick leave.

Offset scholarships for fee

Payments

The scholarships that pay a one-off payment such as quarterly payments or stipends are paid each fortnight through the University’s Payroll. It will be listed as an university of Melbourne salary in your statement of bank.

Fees

Domestic graduate researchers who receive the masters degree through research or doctoral degrees will be enrolled in an fee-free place and will be awarded a Research Training Program Fee Offset Scholarship to recognize the assistance of the Australian Government to cover the cost the tuition.

Note that the tuition fee remission scholarship does not pay for fees for fee for Student Services and Facilities (SSAF). If the SSAF is listed as a liability on the Statement you must pay it.

Application Procedure for Graduate Research Scholarships 2023-2024:

If you’re a new admitted student and have submitted an application for a graduate program in research before the closing date for the particular course, then you’re automatically qualified to be considered for graduate research scholarships. You will be informed that your application for an award has been added to your account within 7 days of the submission of your application.

If you’ve decided to take the graduate research course, and you’ve delayed the date of your beginning to be eligible for an award then you need to fill out an application online by the 31st day of October in order to be eligible for a scholarship in the next year. You will receive notification that your application for scholarship was submitted to your account within seven days of submitting your form online.

If you’re currently enrolled in an advanced research course and is in need of to be awarded the scholarship, complete an application online by the 31st of October to be qualified for a scholarship next year. You’ll be informed that your application for a scholarship was submitted to your account within seven days of submitting your form online.
