Do you know a female who has at least a bachelor’s degree in an STEM field and are enthusiastic about what you study? You may be eligible for a Stem scholarships 2023-2024 to study for a master’s or even an earlier academic fellowship in the field of engineering, science, technology or mathematics program at a renowned UK university.

For the second consecutive year for the second time, this year, the British Council has launched a scholarship program in collaboration together with 26 UK universities, with the goal of helping females from Americas, South Asia, South East Asia, Egypt, Turkey and Ukraine. We are seeking women with backgrounds in STEM and who are able to demonstrate the need for financial assistance and wish to inspire younger generations of women to take up jobs in STEM.

Why do we need a scholarship?

The scholarship program aims to increase chances in STEM for women and girls. According to research provided by the UN Scientific Education and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) less than 30% of researchers in the world are women, and only 30 percent female students opt for STEM-related courses during their higher studies.

Globally female students’ enrollment is especially lower for Information and Communications Technology (three percent) as well as natural science mathematics, statistics and math (five percent) and engineering manufacturing, construction, and manufacturing (eight per cent).
