UN Immersion Program 2023 is available to International Students . The scholarship will allow internship program(s) within the area of International Relations and Diplomacy taught at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research . The application deadline is not set.
United Nation Immersion Program is an entirely funded program that will be run by UNITAR for the year ahead to be held in Geneva, Switzerland. Participants will be able to get a first-hand knowledge of the UN through this program.
UNITAR will be the host for most of the activities at Geneva, the home of the UN in Geneva The historic Palais des Nations. They will comprise an individualized balance of the following components:
- Expert lectures
- Training workshops
- Multilateral conferences
- Private guided tours
- Career development sessions
The aim is to provide participants with the knowledge and expertise in diplomacy, which will enable them to function more efficiently and effectively in any international context. It also hopes to provide access to UN personnel and institutions to create networks and gain knowledge about future career options.

UN Immersion Program 2023 Scholarship Benefits:
The UN Immersion Program to Geneva is designed to give an outline of United Nations. Participants will be able to build solid knowledge of the main themes and issues in international affairs offer training in fundamental diplomatic abilities and conduct activities with Geneva-based agencies:
- United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG)
- United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR)
- World Trade Organization (WTO)
- International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
- World Meteorological Organization (WMO)

The program is open to anyone of any nationality.

Eligibility Criteria:
The Immersion Program is open to anyone with an desire to be involved in this area of the United Nations. Participants may be from both the private and public sector as well as think tanks, NGOs, as well as academia. Students at universities and people from completely different backgrounds are also welcome to apply.
To ensure best quality standards to ensure the highest quality standards, a maximum of 30 participants per field trip and 50 participants for an online training course will be permitted. Slots will be assigned according to a first come, first served basis. When the programs participants will be awarded the UNITAR certificate of completeness.
Application Procedure For UN Immersion Program 2023-2024
Given the present COVID-19 pandemic UNITAR will make sure that the program is in complete compliance with current standards for health safety, such as the social distancing of people, hygiene measures and contact tracing, in the event that some participants aren’t yet fully protected. The program’s schedule could be subject to change in accordance with the latest developments in this field.
If, due to any COVID-19-related travel restrictions participants who have registered for the field trip to Geneva cannot go to Switzerland this summer/spring, it is possible to take part in this year’s UN Young Leaders Online Training Program for free. Additionally, their time slot for the field trip to Geneva will automatically be moved to the next edition between 17 and 21 July 2023. and from 21 to 25 August 2023, or at any time after that, without charges for additional expenses.
