Scotland’s Saltire scholarship has been announced for the academic year 2023-2024. Students can choose one of the courses among creative industries, science, renewable and clean energy, healthcare, and medical sciences and technology.

This scholarship is announced every year to choose the best talent among aspiring scholars who opt for international scholarships from a set of developing and developed countries. Under this scholarship, 50 awards are offered worth around 8000 pounds for tuition fees for one year of full-time study in a postgraduate program at any of Scotland’s universities. Citizens of Canada, China/ Hong Kong, India, Japan, Pakistan, and the USA having a conditional or unconditional offer of a place at a Scottish university on an eligible course are eligible to apply with confidence for this scholarship.

Saltire scholarship team has set certain rules for those who avail of this opportunity as one of the conditions for termination mentions “the Scottish Government may terminate Saltire Scholars from the program if they do not adhere to the principles of the program or if their continued membership of participation may cause embarrassment or damage to Scotland’s reputation in any way.” Also, the requirements set forth by the committee include maintaining a standard of conduct and a good reputation for the Saltire Scholarship Program and the institution at which they study and participating actively in the program’s extra-curricular events.

It has been mentioned in the requirements that the scholars may be required to post on social media about their time and experience in Scotland. Also, they might be interviewed during the degree program and any photographs, videos, or anecdotes shared by the students may use for communication purposes later in any of the scholarship marketing brochures, etc. Therefore, this requirement is more like taking the consent of the students beforehand.

Scotland’s Saltire scholarship 2023-2024 Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must accept an offer conditional or unconditional of a position in a Scottish university for an eligible course to be taught on campus, via distance-based online learning, or both. Candidates must come from Canada, India, Japan, USA, Pakistan or China (Hong Hong Kong citizens are also eligible as it is part of China’s Special Administrative Region).
• Demonstrate that they can afford living costs in Scotland and any remaining tuition expenses.
• I have never previously studied in Scotland.
•  I have not previously received a Saltire Scholarship.
•  You must meet all language requirements set out for you in the program.
• Complete an application form and submit it by December 30, 2023.

The applicant must demonstrate a desire to study in Scotland or at a particular Scottish university, as well as be capable of working and studying globally in order to take charge of their chosen field.
