Australian government RTP Scholarships 2024-2025: The two Australian Domestic and International students can submit applications for the Australian Government Research Training Program 2024-2025. Universities manage this Research Training Program (RTP) with the Department of Education, Skills, and Employment. - RTP Stipend to assist students with the cost of living during an HDR;
- RTP Allowances to aid students in the cost of an HDR such as but not only:
- A) for students from overseas, and established Overseas Student Health Cover policy accepted by the Commonwealth Department of Health and that covers the student as well as the spouse or dependents (if there are any);
- b) Costs of relocation to complete an HDR and
- C) HDR thesis printing and expenses for academic publication.
Every calendar year, the range of RTP stipend rates for the coming calendar year is announced before October 1st. The RTP Stipend rate range will be in effect from January 1st. The table below outlines the current and most recent RTP Stipend rates.

RTP Scholarships 2024 Eligibility Criteria:
To be qualified for RTP Scholarships 2024.
- You must be a resident of the country or an international student taking part in an accredited HDR program in one Australian Higher Education institution.
- Do not receive money from another source to cover the student’s expenses for living in the course of their studies. The income is more than 75 % of the student’s RTP Stipend. In addition, income that is not related to the studies or payment earned for the student’s studies but not intended for providing for living expenses generally cannot be taken into consideration.
- Do not receive an equivalent scholarship or award from the Commonwealth intended to help offset the cost of HDR.
For students from overseas, please be aware that it is possible to apply a limit of 10 percent of how much RTP funds can be used to help overseas students.
